Sketch #157

Here's my very first layout for the DT over at ScrapSketch. Here's the sketch...

And here's the layout. My sister got married in Anguilla (a tiny island in the Caribbean) and I've been wanting to do some layouts for her to frame. This sketch was perfect for the pictures! The tan and off white papers are coordinations. The tan stripe paper is from ATD Pure stack. The solid blue and pattern blue is from the Paper Studio Flutter Loft stack. The circle is from George at 11" and the seashells are from Stretch Your Imagination at 2". Their last name (Gervais) was cut in Design Studio with Calligraphy. This is the first cut I've got to come out with that darn cartridge! I got the starfish from Joann's and they are cute, but they are so fragile! I broke the first two just arranging them on the LO!

Sleeping Puppy

I've been home with pink eye since Tuesday and today I finally got some motivation after reading the new Scrapbooks Etc magazine. I lifted this idea from a Halloween layout on page 19. The lighting isn't the greatest because there was a storm outside when I was trying to get some natural light!

This is another page for Hurley's album. I really went out of my comfort zone which I've been trying to do! I usually only use one pattern paper and keep it pretty simple so I really like this one. The striped paper is from the DCWV Green Stack and the green dot is from the Nana's Nursery stack. I used Storybook to cut the big marquee at 7 1/2" and the smaller marquees at 3" & 2 3/4". The bone is cut from Mickey at 3/4" and sleeping is from Makin the Grade at 1". The crooked scallop and circle are from Mini Monograms and I don't remember what size. The paw stamp is StampinUp and the puppy stamp is Cloud 9 Designs. I used the Bow Easy to do a super small bow on the bone and it looks really cute in person!

Woo Hoo!!!

I meant to post yesterday but had a busy night...I'm very excited to announce that I made the DT for Scrap Sketch!! I just discovered the site last week and fell completely in love with it. Now I'm lucky enough to be a part of the team over there. I can't wait to get started and work with a group of such talented ladies. If you haven't done so definitely check out the site...It's amazing!!

Another ScrapSketch

I really love using sketches...I find I get layouts done a lot quicker and easier when I have something to follow! I especially loved this one because of the big marquee...I've been wanting to use one like this for awhile! You can see the original sketch at the Scrap Sketch website.

The pattern papers are from the DCWV Nana's Nursery stack. Black, white, and pink are from my cardstock stash. The marquee is from Storybook and I used design studio to make it more square rather than rectangular. You & me is from Lyrical Letters cut at 1 1/2. The heart is from George cut at 2 1/2. I used the cuttlebug Argyle folder to emboss the heart. The pink heart embellishment is from an old Me & My Big Ideas set. The stamp (I love you with all my) is from a CTMH set. I used the Bow Easy to make a double bow. I originally had the ribbon like the sketch but it didn't flow as well as the ribbon with the bow.

Scrapsketch Challenge

I came across the Scrap Sketch site when they were having a blog hop this weekend. They have some really great work over there! I decided I'd join in to get another page done for Hurley's album.
I've had these pictures cropped and ready to scrap for a few months now. I've started 3 different layouts and never liked any of them so didn't glue anything down. I was determined to make the sketch work for these pictures. I usually have Friends on while I scrap more for noise but it was raining for once so I just listened to the rain and I was mighty productive! I got this done in probably 20 minutes. The top right picture on the left page is a little bent...Hurley was playing with something and I looked and realized it was his picture! I had a nice new one ready to use but I thought I'd use the one with his special touch on it instead.
The title is from Pooh font cut at 2 inches. The border cut is Martha Stewart. I kept it simple because I have so many pictures of him I really want to get the album going!

Hurley's Puppy Scrapbook

These layouts were done awhile ago but I never got around to taking pictures and posting them.

The title for this was created in design studio with All Mixed Up. The circle was cut from George. I used Fiskars and Martha Stewart punches for the borders.

I think I used Alphalicious for the font on this one. The arrows are from Graphically Speaking. The arrows and "one" are embossed with the Swiss dots folder on the Cuttlebug.



I wanted to do a layout of the names we were considering for him. My boyfriend was set on Reese (from Terminator) and I really wanted Coach (I love the purses and thought it'd be a cute boy name). When I picked him up I thought of Hurley from Lost and it was perfect. It fits him perfectly! The circles and squares were cut from George....My expression always cuts scallops crooked and these circles were too. At first I was really mad but I kinda like the crooked look to them. The names were cut from Lyrical Letters.

21st Birthday Card

My good friend is turning 21 this week and this is the card I made to give her. I saw this layout from Mandy Ferg and I've been doing lots of cards like this because I absolutely love it.

The card bases is 9" by 4". The scallop border is Fiskars Threading Water punch. The pink paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery Stack. Scallops were cut from Storybook at 2 1/2" (I think) and the circles were cut at 2". 21 was cut from Lyrical Letters at 2" and the martini glass is pop dotted from Cuttin Up at 2 1/2".
